This is a 7 hour round trip, and is the most popular day tour in the Falkland Islands and a great trip for photography.  The drive to Volunteer’s Point is 2 hours, with 45 minutes on dust road and the rest off-road, but is well worth the trip.  Volunteer’s Point is home to thousands of breeding Penguins, including King Penguin, Gentoo and Magellanic Penguins, and is a wonderful place to see Penguins and their young.  In addition, there are often some Southern Elephant Seals looking for a snack on the lovely long white sand beach.
